Below you will find a multitude of frequently asked questions, including our shipping and return policies.
What happens if I lose an earring?
If an earring is lost, one single earring can be purchased at half the pair price. This means if the current cost of your earrings are $20, you can purchase a single earring for $10 (+tax and shipping). Please reach out through our Contact Us page to begin this process. Remember, all earrings are one-of-a-kind so I will do my best to find a match suitable but nature makes no true duplicates.
My chain broke, can you fix it?
I get it, stuff happens. And I am here to help! If after you've purchased your jewelry, a clasp stops working or a chain breaks, I would be more than happy to fix the item. TLHW jewelry repairs start at $5+ return shipping and go up from there depending on the materials and work required. Please send all repairs to the following address:

Do you do general jewelry repairs?
Jewelry repair is a fine art and while I would love to say I can fix your great grandma's ring, the reality is I am only willing to work with my jewelry for repairs. As time goes on I hope to be able to provide a more extensive repair program but currently that is not a service I provide.
How fast is shipping?
Each order has a 7-10 business day PROCESSING time. This is then followed by the average first class shipping rate of 5-7 business days. Please know TLHW is just one person working hard to try and get all orders out in a timely manor while still having a proper work-life balance. The reality is most of our orders ship out within 3-5 business days but just know 7-10 days is the average wait time.
Do you offer insured shipping?
Yes, yes, 100 times yes! When checking out, you are able to add insurance for a small fee. Regardless of if insurance is added or not, once your package leaves my hands it is up to USPS to fulfill the shipment of said package. IF a package is lost in the postal system and you paid for the extra insurance, you will need to open a claim with USPS themselves. If my assistance is required, please reach out and I would be more than happy to help in any way possible. The Life of a Hunter's Wife is NOT responsible for any lost packages in transit.
When will I receive my tracking info?
You will receive your tracking number as well as any and all other pertinent order information within 24-48 hours of the label being created.
Am I able to drop off or pick up?
If you have a repair or items for a custom that I need, you are more than welcome to drop them off during our regular business hours, Monday through Friday 9am to 4pm, or drop said items off after hours in our pick up box on our porch. IF you drop your items in our mailbox, we are NOT responsible for if the items get lost or stolen. It is illegal to drop items in mail boxes without proper postage so I recommend you using our drop box or just shipping it to us if you plan for an after business hour drop off.
Are you local and don't want to pay for shipping? I get it! Pickups can be made, in person, at any time during regular business hours, Monday through Friday 9am-4pm or you can request for your pick up to be placed in our pick up box outside the shop doors during non-business hours. By agreeing to a non-business hour pickup, The Life of a Hunter's Wife is not responsible for any lost or stolen goods once outside the confines of our shop.
What is your jewelry made of?
The majority of our jewelry is made from stainless steel or sterling silver. If you are unsure of the metal type, please read the description of the item prior to purchase.
Will your jewelry tarnish?
Stainless steel is one of my absolute favorite jewelry metals to work with, simply because it does not tarnish! However, some of our pieces are coated in stainless steel that may wear after years of use.
Sterling silver and other precious metals do tarnish. You can combat this by keeping your items in a cool dry place.
Our coated metals can last for years but please know, with general wear ant tear, over time your jewelry may not sparkle as it used to.
How do I clean your jewelry?
Stainless steel is simple, take it off, wipe off any dirt or water and put it away.
Sterling silver and other precious metal are cleaned best by warm soapy water and a scratch free buffing cloth. You can purchase said cloth in our Western section of our shopping page.
Our coated metals are best cleaned by wiping gently with a dry towel and stored away.
What is your return policy?
All sterling silver collection pieces are a final sale and non-refundable. When purchasing a ring, you must know your size prior to checking out. If the ring does not fit, no return will be made.
All elk ivory orders, whether made with a TLHW ivory or your own are final sale and non-refundable. This also includes custom elk ivory designs.
All custom orders are final sale and non-refundable. We strive to keep you in the loop in all steps of the custom jewelry making process to ensure your satisfaction. So, if you are not happy with something, speak up! We want you to LOVE your custom, not regret it!
All other online store sales can be exchanged or given store credit if contact is made within 10 days of your package arriving. Once contact is made and the items are returned (in original condition) back to TLHW, the exchange process will start or we will send you your store credit.
Can I cancel or change my order?
Any collection piece or elk ivory piece that is ordered CANNOT be canceled. By checking our terms and conditions box you are agreeing that you fully understand our shop policies. If an address needs to be changed for shipping, please send us an email at thelifeofahunterswife@gmail.com.
With all other order types, canceled or changed orders MUST be received within 24 hours of placing the original order. Otherwise your order will go out as originally scheduled.
What are your customer service hours?
Our customer service hours are Monday through Friday 9am to 4pm EST. IF you need to cancel or change an order, be sure to do it within the 24 hour period. I will see it and make sure the proper changes are made on the next business day.
